Ulrike Sturm completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts (majoring in Printmaking) at Sydney College of the Arts (University of Sydney) in 1996. She undertook further printmaking studies at the Sydney Gallery School in Meadowbank (Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE NSW), completing an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts in 1998.

In 2012, Ulrike completed a Master of Fine Arts, also at Sydney College of the Arts (University of Sydney). Link to thesis:

Her work is held in numerous public collections including National Library of Australia; the Brooklyn Art Library, New York, USA; the State Library of New South Wales; CQUniversity, Noosa campus; Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE; Australian National University Collection; Sydney University Library; Sydney College of the Arts Collection; Umbrella Studios, Townsville, and more.
